Mission Statement

Partnering with parents and the church to prepare college-ready witnesses for Christ who know, love and compassionately speak the truth.

Partnering with Parents and the Church

The University-Model School is inherently tied to the parents of every student in the school. Parents decide to invite the school to join in training their children. It’s a trust we welcome with great sobriety. We strive to avoid usurping parents’ God-given roles.

Christ Prep also recognizes the role that many parents choose to give to the staff of their local congregations. We seek to work alongside those pastors and teachers who fulfill a significant function in the lives of our students.

Christ Prep strives to prepare all students for post-secondary educational experiences available at colleges and universities. Our teachers structure their classes and expectations with that goal in mind.

The University-Model prepares students for the university setting in other ways, as well. Life skills related to time management, decision-making and work ethic are a strategic part of the readiness that our students demonstrate upon graduation.

Witnesses for Christ

While the school itself is not evangelistic in its emphasis, we are unapologetically Christian in our mission and vision. It is our earnest desire to see all students come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through repentance of sin and acceptance of the marvelous gift of grace offered to all mankind. We expect to contribute to students’ abilities to think and act in a biblical manner.

Know, Love and Compassionately Speak the Truth

John 8:32 (NASB) “. . . you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

All truth belongs to God. Jesus Christ is accurately portrayed in scripture as “the sum of all things.” We believe accurate understanding of any truth is rooted in a knowledge of Him and that all truth, wherever it is found, will ultimately lead to Him. A heart and mind that truly seeks the truth will find the freedom that comes first to a spirit brought to life by the power that raised Jesus from the dead, and then to a mind renewed by the same Spirit that searches the depths of the heart and mind of God.

2 Thessalonians 2: 8 – 12 (NASB) “. . . with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.”

It is the knowledge of the truth that sets one free. It is the love of that truth that makes a positive contribution to finding that freedom for which we have been set free. In Galatians 5:1, believers are admonished to “…keep standing firm…” and to “…not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” The deep abiding love of the truth – a whole-hearted embracing of truth wherever it is found – serves as protection against the onslaught of that which is false and deceptive in its nature. This is true not only with regards to the eternal salvation of a soul, but also in every academic discipline. It is our earnest desire that the love of the truth will help our students remain free.

Ephesians 4:14-15 (NASB) “As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ. . . .”

Men and women who know and love the truth are now in a position to speak that truth in love in a way that will influence both those in the Chutch and those outside of it. It is our desire that students who graduate from Christ Prep are prepared to be of assistance in the building up of the body of Christ in love. Beyond that, we intend that they touch the nations through bringing to their various disciplines the knowledge and love of the truth that resides in the heart and mind of the Creator.
