NHS 01
National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. Four main purposes guide NHS: “To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.” (from the NHS Constitution) These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginnings in 1921. The Christ Prep NHS chapter was established during the 2009 – 2010 academic year.

StuCo 01
Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT)

The Christ Prep Student Activities Leadership Team is a member of the National Association of Student Councils and is a very active group of students in grades 7 to 12. Each spring, the student body elects four members of the Executive Council (president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer). This group meets with the faculty advisor during the summer to plan for the year. Then, in the fall, each class selects its representatives to the general team. SALT plans and executes a number of social events and projects through the academic year.

Worship 01
Worship Team

This team leads worship at chapel services with the assistance of an adult director. Twice each month, students in Grades 7 to 12 gather in the sanctuary at Community Covenant Church worship. Students with both instrumental and vocal gifts lead those services. Since graduation requirements include fine arts credits, some students enroll in the class for credit, but others join this team for a less formal, club-like arrangement.

yearbook staff 2015-2016e

The Christ Prep yearbook is named Declaration, and it is produced each year by a dedicated staff of students who give a lot of time to recording the people and events of the year. This can be taken as a class for credit, or it can be taken for the pure joy of the experience.

Student Events 01
Student Events

Whether it’s a formal evening out, a costume competition during a Spirit Week lunch, a dodge ball competition or a service-based retreat, students regularly find ways to create memories in a fun, wholesome way. Often planned by student leadership, these events are often the highlights for students.
