After months of preparation by teachers and staff, Christ Prep was notified on April 14, 2017, that the school has been re-certified as a member school in the National Association of University Model Schools (NAUMS). The action taken by a unanimous vote of the NAUMS Board of Directors a few days earlier was the result of a recommendation for “re-certification without stipulation” by a team of three school administrators who met with the Christ Prep board, administration, staff and representative students. NAUMS administrators were provided significant documentation regarding the school’s academic program, activities, character development efforts and program support. Commendations focused on items such as a “highly qualified” teaching staff, the distinctive worldview curriculum, and the ongoing efforts to establish a standardized testing program that informs instruction and student learning.
Christ Prep’s re-certification as a University-Model school is in place until the next site visit in the spring of 2022. Christ Preparatory Academy remains the only University-Model school in metropolitan Kansas City.
